Je zou denken dat we in Nederland goed omgaan met huisdieren. Toch hebben veel huisdieren een afschuwelijk leven. Ze worden gedumpt, mishandeld, verwaarloosd of ze worden zo doorgefokt dat ze ziektes krijgen en pijn lijden. Andere huisdieren kwijnen weg door eenzaamheid of ze krijgen niet de zorg die ze nodig hebben. De Sophia-Vereeniging komt op voor deze dieren. Al sinds 1867 zetten wij ons in voor betere dierenbeschermende wetten en strenge controles. Ook is goede voorlichting hard nodig, zodat huisdieren zorgvuldig worden aangeschaft en er beter voor ze wordt gezorgd. Help jij mee om deze dieren het leven te geven dat ze verdienen?

Stichting Opvang Konijnenparadijs is een konijnenopvang in het onderste puntje van Friesland. Wij vangen konijnen op die worden afgestaan door particulieren, maar ook konijnen die zijn gedumpt. Helaas komt dit laatste nog erg vaak voor. We herplaatsen konijnen door ze te koppelen aan een maatje en een voorwaarde is een ruim en veilig verblijf, waar de konijnen naar hartelust kunnen rennen en springen. We vangen op elk moment +/- 80 konijnen op en hebben een lange wachtlijst, mensen willen helaas graag van hun konijnen af. Om al deze konijnen van zorg te voorzien, werken we met een groot team vrijwilligers en 2 vaste medewerkers 24/7 heel hard. We zijn volledig afhankelijk van donaties.

Wij zijn een vereniging met meer dan 800 leden waar verschillende takken van de gym‐ en turnsport worden beoefend. Naast turnen op alle niveaus en voor alle leeftijden, (van peuters tot en met volwassenen) bieden wij de mogelijkheid om een trainers- en/of jury diploma te behalen. We hebben een eigen turnhal aan de Bongerdstraat in Almere voor wedstrijd-turners , de recreatie-trainingen worden gegeven in verschillende locaties in de stad. Op die manier kan er altijd in de eigen buurt getraind worden.

De Empowerment packs worden gebracht naar gemeenschappen op 30 minuten afstand, waar kinderen anders geen toegang hebben tot het Centrum. Zo profiteren ook zij van gelijke kansen. De gemeenschappen die we benaderen worden geselecteerd op afstand en bestaande contacten, waarbij de aanwezigheid van alumni een groot voordeel is. Wij zijn een permanente opvang voor moeilijk tot niet herplaatsbare katten, welke op dit moment ruim 225 katten uitvest. Tevens zetten we ons in om het kattenoverschot tegen te gaan door te steriliseren. Zo bieden we gereduceerde tarieven aan voor de minima met hun huisdieren, en zijn we actief op buitenlocaties (boerderijen, industrie,campings etc).

We provide full time care to 162 children in crisis without the protection and care of families. As a Hospice, we provide care for people with advanced, incurable terminal illness in the final stages of life. We promote Palliative care which is treatment focused on the patient as opposed to the disease. We provide Hospice care which is even more focused on the person; as it is provided once treatment has stopped. It is a specialized area of medicine as a lot of the focus is on comfort, pain management and symptom control where most medicine is focused on fighting disease for cure. Both Palliative care and Hospice care have the same focus, they both promote an improved quality of life.

Tiny Owls Baby Home is a registered non-profit in Durbanville, Western Cape. Since 2018, we have provided a safe, nurturing, and loving space for abandoned and relinquished babies awaiting adoption. Run by a small, dedicated team, the home cares for up to six babies at a time, offering 24/7 care, medical interventions, and emotional support. Babies come through social workers, often from heartbreaking circumstances. With over 69 babies nurtured so far, Tiny Owls relies on donations and the goodwill of corporates, volunteers, and community members to keep going.

Since 1958, PSFA has served over two billion nutritious meals to impoverished learners, improving their concentration, attendance, and academic performance. PSFA’s holistic school nutrition support programme ensures thousands of children receive the nourishment they need to thrive, reinforcing the fact that you can’t teach a hungry child. A donation of only R950 will enable PSFA to feed a child for a year, and R100 will feed a child for a month. Our goal is to ensure that 500 learners will receive 2 daily meals for a year (R950 X 500 learners).

HopeTown is based in Ocean View, Cape Town, South Africa. We are a youth-based community development NGO and reach out to the disadvantaged families in the community. We offer an internship programme centred around skills training for young people who have dropped out of school. We also reach out to about 130 kids in the community with dance, art, sports, tutoring and youth events. Our small high school offers Grade 7-9 and bridges a gap to enable vocational training. The Bhabhisana Baby Project is a Cape Town-based non-profit delivering early childhood intervention services to babies with developmental delays and disabilities in underserved communities. Our holistic model integrates developmental therapy, caregiver training, and community partnerships to ensure early identification and support of these babies during the critical first thousand days. We employ a family-centred, interdisciplinary approach with each team consisting of a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and speech and language therapist. They provide early therapeutic intervention and empower parents/ caregivers with the skills they need to help their baby reach their full potential.

Stichting Manegekanjers met Pensioen organiseert het pensioen voor oude manegepaarden- en pony's. Om dat te kunnen financieren, werven we donateurs en organiseren we activiteiten, zoals lezingen en hobby horsewedstrijden. In response to poorly resourced Catholic schools asking for help with mental health difficulties, the Catholic Institute of Education (CIE) began a mental health pilot project in 2023 with 60 teachers from 20 schools. In partnership with, and with the support of, the Regional Psychosocial Support Initiative(REPSSI), the CIE continued the project into 2024. In 2025 the CIE has continued with the project and has introduced a new component: trauma-informed practices for poorly resourced Catholic Schools. 20 Schools will be included in the project and the Catholic Institute of Education itself, will go through the training to become a trauma-informed organisation.

Education in Impoverished communities has been failing children for decades. Subpar classrooms, teaching and curriculum has kept children, youth and adults at a major disadvantage.
